The earliest memory of my travel was swimming in the Brahmaputra river when I was maybe 5 years old in Arunachal Pradesh. Maybe a coincidence but this State located in the North East part of India also carries my name Arun! Until about mid 20s, it was all domestic travel for me before I landed in Muscat, Oman on my first foreign visit. However, it was not until 1999 when I travelled to Thailand and Singapore that the travel bug, of foreign origin, actually bit me! I still recollect working out the budget for Goa also and the calculations showed Thailand and Singapore were about the same cost! Over the years, I have given priority to taking off every year and have travelled to over 30 countries with a lot more on my bucket list.
Quite obvious that there is still lot of grey shade in the map above. In the words of Robert Frost, there are miles to go before I sleep!
